How the CPS test works

Click the big red button (or press Space) as fast as you can. The timer starts on your first click. When time runs out you get your average clicks per second (CPS), your best single second, and your total clicks.

Your car drives forward with every click, so you can watch your speed. Results are split into Human and Nitrous (autoclicker) so scripted clicks never mix with real ones.

What is a good CPS?

Most people click around 6 to 8 CPS. 10 CPS is fast, 12 to 14 CPS usually needs jitter or butterfly clicking, and anything above 16 CPS is elite. Over very short tests (1 to 5 seconds) scores run higher because your hand hasn’t tired yet.

How to click faster

Rest your wrist on the desk and click from the finger, not the arm. Try a lighter mouse with a crisp switch. Warm up with a few short tests, then practice the length you care about. Jitter clicking (tensing your forearm so your finger vibrates) and butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers) both raise your CPS, but take breaks so your hand doesn’t hurt.

FAQ

What does CPS mean?

CPS means clicks per second: how many times you click in one second, averaged over the test.

Is there a CPS limit?

No. Click Racer counts every click with no cap. Scores that look scripted go on the separate Nitrous board.

Can I use the Space bar?

Yes. Space counts the same as clicking the red button.

Do I need an account?

No. You can test right away. Create a free account (just a username) to save your best scores and appear on the leaderboards.
